I have had my 87 Savage for about 3 years and other than a faulty side stand swtich all I have done to it is replace the clutches and other regular maintinance. As for the Honda Rebel, watch out they got their own share of problems. Most Rebel problem I have heard about and helped friends with are catostrophic. Sorry the Savage isn't for you but if the Rebel goes belly up on ya I don't think this is the place to come askin questions.
